Four Winds Farm occupies a unique property, providing a bridge between the suburban development to its north and the rural lands to its south.
While staying close to its agricultural history, it has now become an inspired setting for learning, creative experiences, and unforgettable gatherings. It has been the mission of Four Winds Farm to create a diverse, sustainable landscape where natural beauty can take center stage.
Permaculture: Building a More Sustainable Future
The permaculture design on this property focuses on native Wisconsin ecosystems including oak savannahs, restored prairie, and hardwood forests, while incorporating hay fields and pasture, hop fields, perennial grain production, kitchen gardens, nut and fruit orchards, and an apiary. Cheviot and Tunis lambs are raised onsite, as well as five breeds of chickens. We also manage wetlands, water retention systems, and a composting program.
